About Nina (with apologies to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air…)

Now, this is a story all about how

I moved away from old London town

And I'd like to take a minute

Just sit right there

I'll share how I became a celebrant and lay my life bare

In England is where I was born and raised

In the library was where I spent most of my days

Reading and studying, not super cool

But life kicked off when I left school

Travel, study, life was good

‘Til my dad said “Time to leave this ‘hood

Get your passport, dollars and bags in order,

It’s time to spread your wings my intrepid daughter”.

I pondered and procrastinated day after day

But he kept nagging 'til all I could say

Was "OK you win" and with my ruby shoes

I headed for Oz with nothing to lose.

I landed in Sydney, a new Emerald city

Fell in love with the landscape - oh so pretty

Years flew by, I built a home

Until one day - a new name on my phone

This guy from a party, we’d had a vibe

A whole new feeling I couldn’t describe

On our very first date it was joke after joke

Something had happened – was I falling for this bloke?

The night got late and the uber drew near

The license plate said “love”, what’s going on here?

My instinct told me this cab was on fleek
But I thought "Nah, forget it, yo, home to Wolli Creek”

I pulled up to my house super late

Yelled to the cabbie, "Thanks, see ya mate"
And in that moment a call came through

My date was buzzing, “So great to see you”

Fast forward a while, and life is a jive

Living life together, one plus one equals five
